"Bells Across America"

A Chapter Program Tradition

"Bells Across America", September 17, 2016 Rome Historical Society

On September 17 of every year, at precisely 4:00 p.m., Fort Stanwix Chapter begins a year of activities by participating in the "Bells Across America" observance.   It was at this exact time and date that the Constitution of the United States was adoped in 1787.

It is our chapter tradition to meet and ring the bells at 4:00 pm to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of the United States on September 17, 1787.  If you would like more information about our tradition and/or would like to join us for our celebration, please Contact Us.

A color guard from one of the local scout troops and other guests are invited to participate, as well.
