Revolutionary War Unknown Soldiers Memorial

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers of the American Revolution was designed by Lorimer Rich of Camden, NY, and is located at the corner of North James Street and West Liberty Street in Rome, NY. The official dedication was on July 4, 1976. The remains of the soldiers are encased in a copper box at the foot of the tomb. Mr. Rich was also the designer of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC.
