Fort Bull

Fort Wood Creek was called Fort Bull after the commander Captain Bull. The Fort Bull location may be accessed across the bridge and to the rear of Erie Canal Village, on the Rome New London Road (Routes 46 & 49). The western point of the carry was four miles from the upper landing Fort Williams.
The Fort Bull monument dedicated by Fort Stanwix Chapter, NSDAR, in 1921 is located at the entrance to the Erie Canal Village on Routes 46 & 49.
