Erie Canal |
The historic 363-mile Erie Canal was completed in seven years. As traders and settlers moved westward, major cities were established along the waterway. (Utica, Rome, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo.) Today the Erie Canal is part of the 524- mile New York State Canal System. |
